James Lee collaborates with Soo Young for an acoustic track "Let's Get Away"

After a successful release of “The Light” single, JAMES collaborates with Girls' Generation's SOOYOUNG for an acoustic love track, “Let’s Get Away”. This track is about the feeling of wanting to get away from the weight of the world with someone you love. It’s about a girl who can change your reality no matter what the circumstances are. She is the answer to all of your problems and when you’re with her it feels better than any painkiller can make you.

For this collaboration, JAMES explained that he is a fan and a friend of SOOYOUNG. He’s been wanting to work with her as she has a beautiful voice tone. “She has a purity and loveliness I thought would work well with my voice and the energy of this track. I sent her the acoustic track and she agreed right away to give it a try and we tracked her vocals very quickly. I found a talented acoustic guitarist on Instagram named Pat Falgate who played the guitar part beautifully. SOOYOUNG showed her professionalism when recording the vocals and the video.”

About JAMES:

JAMES was a Bassist for the Korean-American rock band by the name of Royal Pirates debuted into the world of K-pop. Sadly a devastating freak accident in 2015, changed everything for JAMES forcing him to go on hiatus. A debilitating accident resulted in his left hand being almost chopped off and reattached with minimal function, ending his career as a worldwide touring bassist. After 5 surgeries, JAMES moved back to LA and started a kick-starter project called ‘The LIGHT EP’ including music written post-accident detailing his journey since then. He considers music his rehabilitation and continues writing and creating as his passion.

JAMES previously released his first solo single entitled “The Light” where he wrote the track after his tragic accident. It’s an electronic mid-tempo song describing his journey from the darkness of depression to accepting God as his savior. It is an emotional cry for help and conversation with hope through the darkest time in his life.

Red Velvet Brings Happiness to Kuala Lumpur!

Red Velvet successfully ended their first "Rookie" Mini-Event in Malaysia with a full-house crowd at Bentley Music Auditorium on 23 April (Sunday). The overwhelming response definitely marked a wonderful Sunday for Red Velvet, not to mention us and the fans.

The girls appeared with the matching red and pink outfit and performed their hit songs - Ice Cream Cake, Dumb Dumb, Russian Roulette and Rookie. An exclusive album making BTS video was played right after the uplifting performances, those who couldn't make it would definitely in the envy mood and murmur for thousand times - "I should go to the event.....those who attended were too lucky~".

To fulfilled your wish, Joy who absent due to her drama filming has surprised fans with the pre-recorded video message. What's more touching than watching a heart-felted video from your favourite idol!

The game session was next with 4 chosen lucky fans up on stage and get to meet Red Velvet up close. The Titanic scene was the highlight of the game session. Seulgi with a lucky fanboy reenacted the classic scene of movie Titanic - when the ship was sinking and Rose said to Jack: "Your Jump, I Jump!". We think the fanboys at the venue will naturally go into a cleanced and tense position but thanks to the well-mannered fanboy, the game session ended with a laughter-filled atmosphere.

The event ended with the sing-along "One of These Nights".

Bonus:

The girls never failed to disappoint the fans by showing their Bahasa Malaysia skill. Fans burst into laughter when they said "Best Giler" and "Hati berdebar-debar".

Wendy expressed that she loves Malaysia's landscape and would love to return to Malaysia for vacation. We bet many fans would volunteer to become the tour guide. ㅋㅋ

WOW to Red Velvet's Popularity in Malaysia

A few weeks before the event, Universal Music Malaysia announced to have the public Fan Signing session as “Rookie” Mini Album event's tickets were sold out within 24 hours! Many fans were more than excited when received this great news and as the result, hundreds of fans swarmed Berjaya Times Square yesterday evening just to meet Red Velvet up close at the public event. Although Joy was not able to join the remaining members due to her drama filming schedule, but Irene, Seulgi, Yerin, and Wendy did not fail to impress the audience with their personal charms and beauties.

When Red Velvet was up on stage to perform Russian Roulette and Rookie, we can clearly hear the fanboys went wild screaming and chanting frenzy in showing their support and love. Not to mention, the fan-girls trying their best to scream as loud as the boys.

Unlike other fan-signing sessions, this time around, the idols went down to the audience seats and watched the dance cover performance by the winner group, Velveties. Red Velvet was impressed by their great performance as Velveties mentioned that they just practiced in a week. “We need at least a month to practice a song, you guys only need a week?! That's great!”, added Wendy. Even Seulgi gave a thumb up to the winner!

Universal Music Malaysia conducted an online voting dance cover competition via their official Facebook page and the winner was selected based on the highest number of likes of the video. As the winner of the competition, Velveties was given the opportunity to perform in front of the members and even had the chance to take a group photo with them.

The event was ended with the fan-signing session. 200 lucky fans who pre-ordered Red Velvet “Rookie” album were entitled to have the autograph from the members.

We would like to give a big applause to all the fans who attended the fan-signing session yesterday as we can feel the hype and enthusiasm within them. They totally transformed Berjaya Times Square to a mini-concert venue. Like what Seulgi said yesterday: Best Gilarrrr~ 👍🏼

Red Velvet Mini Album Event SOLD OUT in 20 Minutes! Universal Music Malaysia Announces A Second Fan Signing Event!

SM Entertainment’s girl group Red Velvet announced last week that they will be making their way to Kuala Lumpur for the very first time. Early Bird ticket sales for the Red Velvet <Rookie> Mini Album Event started on 29th March 2017 via the Peatix website, and were sold out within 20 minutes! The regular ticket sales commenced the following day via CD RAMA, and all tickets were also sold out within 24 hours.

As a response to the overwhelming ticket sales, Universal Music Malaysia will be organizing a second event for fans of Red Velvet to see their favorite girl group in person! The Red Velvet <Rookie> Fan Signing Event will take place at 6.00pm on 22nd April 2017 (Saturday) at the LG Concourse of Berjaya Times Square. The fan signing event is open for public viewing, but only 200 lucky fans will get their albums autographed at the event.

Fans who would like to get their albums personally autographed by Red Velvet will need to redeem an Autograph Pass from 11th April 2017 onwards, while stock lasts. To qualify for the Autograph Pass redemption, fans will need to purchase the Red Velvet <Rookie> album from selected CD RAMA outlets, and then proceed to submit their details and proof of purchase at the following link <https://lnk.to/rvfansigning> before 17th April 2017. 200 lucky fans will be selected to redeem the Autograph Pass.

Unfortunately, due to the conflict of Joy’s drama filming schedule, she will not be able to make it for Red Velvet <Rookie> Promotional tour in Malaysia this time round.

From 10th of April 2017 onwards, all the videos submitted for Red Velvet Dance Cover Competition will be uploaded on the Universal Music Malaysia Regional Facebook page for public voting. The voting will end on 16 April 2017, by 11.59pm. The video with the highest number of likes will advance to perform in front of Red Velvet. The group will be given professional comments from Red Velvet as well as a chance to take a group photo with them.
