SneakerLAH, Malaysia's Biggest Sneaker Event is Back!

Malaysia’s biggest and most anticipated sneaker event is back with its third installment offering sneakerheads, streetwear enthusiasts, collectors and traders an opportunity to congregate under one roof to buy, sell, trade, and share the passion of anything and everything sneakers-related.

SneakerLAH first started out in 2015 as a small passion project between a bunch of friends that was immediately welcomed by the sneaker scene with open arms, scoring an attendance of about 17,000 event goers for that year, and 22,000 the following year. This year, #SneakerLAH2017 will be held in KL Convention Centre on the 7th & 8th October with a venue space of 28,000sqf, making this year the biggest one yet.

Expect a host of activities covering aspects of sneaker culture, streetwear/fashion, lifestyle, music and more at this year’s SneakerLAH – including an extensive display of over 350pairs of limited edition sneakers and an indoor mini ramp for skate enthusiasts to enjoy. Attendees can also find out about upcoming releases from international brands like Vans, Reebok, and Rastaclat, all of which and more will have a presence at SneakerLAH for attendees to check out. At the SneakerLAH marketplace, which is one of the biggest draws of the event, attendees can buy, sell & trade the hottest sneakers on the market right now with more than 50 sneaker-related vendors; all of this will be happening to a soundtrack of cool beats and performances from KL’s hottest artists like Airliftz, Zamaera, DJs Arabyrd, JHin and more.

Other activities to also take note of is the sneaker lacing competition, a Vans sneaker customization station by the world-renowned sneaker customizer SBTG, a trading pit for attendees totrade sneakers with each other, andpanel discussions with industry personalities and opinion leaders such as Daniel Kasidi (founder ofRastaclat), the aforementioned SBTG, Nelson Tan from Sole What and more.

Attendees are also encouraged to come decked out in their freshest gear, as SneakerLAH will feature famed lifestyle photographers Anton Lim (@MellowedHigh) from Singapore & Shafiq Saleh (@shafiqanaksaleh) asofficial event photographers.

#Sneakerlah2017 is a ticketed event with pre-sale tickets available at RM10, door sale tickets at RM15 andVIP tickets at RM40 which allow VIP attendees exclusive early entry to the event anhour before the event starts to grab the best deals. With each ticket purchased, attendees are eligible to win sneakers and other prizes in the lucky draw.

Tune Talk is the Official Telco of Sneakerlah 2017and Tune Talk customers can expect special privileges atthe event, such as designated entry lanes and more. Vespa isan Official Sponsor and there will be 2 x Vespa S 125up for grabs at the lucky draw. This October, get ready for MTV Asia to turn up the heat with Korean shows that pique passions - from music, to food, to reality TV.

As the official ‘Asian Broadcasting Partner’ of the 2017 Busan One Asia Festival, MTV Asia will air the Festival Live from the Busan Asiad Main Stadium. The Festival blends Busan culture with Hallyu content, and fans can expect performances from the biggest names in K-pop such as Apink, ASTRO, BAP, GOT7, SF9, NU'EST W, and SECSKIES. Riding the wave, viewers can also enjoy performances from the hottest musicians in the Korean music scene in Season 7 of The Stage, indulge in celebrity cook-offs in Idol Battle Cook, or cheer on their model favourites in runway series, Supermodel 2017.

2017 Busan One Asia Festival

With an ambition to become Asia's number one cultural festival, the Busan One Asia Festival showcases the city's vibrant cultural scenes and the Korean Wave to fans from around the world.

This year, the Opening Ceremony headliners include Apink, ASTRO, BAP, GOT7, SF9, NU'EST W, MOMOLAND, BLACKPINK, iKON, GFRIEND, Wanna One and SECSKIES!

The performances from Legend Stage, the Park Concert and the Closing Ceremony will be aired on MTV Asia at a later stage.

Idol Battle Cook

Premieres on Sunday, 1 October, 8pm (SG/PH), 9pm (MY)

Hosted by Hong Seok Chun, celebrity guests are invited to the studio to cook up a storm! Featuring stars like Fiestar, April, Hana from Secret, Kasper from Play The Siren.

Despite the heavy rain, more than 10,000 V.I.Ps swarmed to Stadium Merdeka, Kuala Lumpur last Sunday (17 September) just for G-DRAGON 'ACT III: M.O.T.T.E (Moment of Truth The End) World Tour.

30-year-old (Korea age) G-DRAGON performed the classic hits across his solo albums; from 'Heartbreaker' to 'Untitled, 2014'. He took us past the facade and getting a closer and more personal look at Kwon Ji Yong (GD's real name) throughout the concert.

The night began with a throwback to G-DRAGON's solo debut hits - 'Heartbreaker', 'Breathe', and 'A Boy'. Fans waving the crown lightstick while singing and dancing along to the hits including 'Michigo', ''One of the Kind' and 'That XX'.

The concert added the rock atmosphere thanks to the live band playing alongside G-DRAGON.

The audience's cheers grew louder when the former 2NE1 member, Sandara Park (DARA) came on stage with the checkered-red dress. (ps: Her dress perfectly matched G-DRAGON's wine-red outfit) Together, they performed 'Missing You' and 'Hello'. It's been 3 years, since DARA last visit to Malaysia, she expressed how much she missed Malaysian fans and also gratefully thanked G-DRAGON for having her on that day. (ps: GD shouted 'Don't leave me alone!' when DARA leaving the stage~)

The concert atmosphere emotionally changed when a video sequence interviewing G-DRAGON's close friends (CL, Dara, Se7en, PSY and fellow members' DAESUNG & TAEYANG) and family members were screened. They shared their thoughts on G-DRAGON and what kind of person G-DRAGON/ Kwon Ji Yong was. When being asked how's G-DRAGON as a son, his father said: "He is the best in the world".

After 'Bullshit' performance, the rain was getting heavier and heavier, G-DRAGON worried about the fans who were watching his performance under the pouring rain and so he said: "Are you all alright?". During that moment, V.I.Ps in Malaysia then lifted up the hand banners under the rain which written - 'Ji Yong, although you're 30 years-old, but you're still cute'. G-DRAGON expressed his happiness and said: "Is really beautiful, thank you, I really like it." He continued: "Today marks my remaining 10th shows of the world tour, after today, there're only 9th shows left."

To our surprise, G-DRAGON spoke in fluent English all night adding a personal touch to the concert. (ps: he even apologized when he spoke in Korean language ㅋㅋㅋㅋ) Before he wrapped the concert, DARA was invited on-stage once again to perform 'Crooked' with him. Lastly, he ended the night with his new album title track 'Untitled, 2014' where he jumped off the stage to meet the fans up close.

With his military service looming, it may be quite some time for him to return back to Malaysia. After all, he gave us his word - 'Me and my boys, BIGBANG are planning for a new project for our fans, we promise. I'll come back to Malaysia if you want me to!' Last Sunday marked G-DRAGON final outdoor concert of his tour.
